Our leadership

Simon joined the Totally Board in November 2023 as Non-executive Director and Chairman Designate, taking up the role of Non-Executive Chairman with effect from 1 January 2024.

Simon is a highly experienced non‑executive director and CEO with over 28 years’ in the City, including as a non-executive director of Gresham House PLC until its sale in 2024.

Prior to this, he was Chief Executive of Liberum, the investment bank that he co-founded in 2007, Director of the Little Forest Folk group of outdoor children's nurseries, Head of Sales for small companies at Collins Stewart plc and a Director at Beeson Gregory Limited.

A former infantry officer, he is also Chairman of the Gloucestershire Regiment Museum Trust.

Wendy has worked in healthcare for 40 years, 23 of which were within the NHS. She built her experience in frontline clinical roles with Derbyshire Ambulance Service before moving into NHS leadership roles where she was CEO for three primary care trusts and part of numerous national strategic projects focused on ensuring NHS services addressed the changing needs of the population.

Wendy ran her own business, working with US‑based healthcare organisations and Bupa before joining Totally as CEO in 2013.

Wendy recognises the importance of recruiting talented individuals to help drive the business forward. She is passionate about delivering high quality and responsive services to ensure patients can access the appropriate care quickly.

Laurence joined Totally in 2022 as Director of Finance and became Chief Financial Officer in August 2024.  He has a career in finance spanning more than 35 years, with ten years at Director level. Most recently, Laurence has held Finance Director roles in Private equity and energy start-ups, including WM5G, Tonik Energy and extraenergy, building upon previous roles at EON, Virgin Media and Lloyds Bank where he qualified as an accountant.

He has been an expedition helper for the Duke of Edinburgh award for more than 12 years and is Treasurer & Member of the Trustee Board for the Institute of Money Advisers.

John was appointed Medical Director for Totally with effect from 1 January 2023. This role provides leadership across the Group for our medical and clinical staff as well as providing strategic advice to the Board on future growth opportunities. John also ensures that Clinical Quality remains a priority across the organisation.

John joined Totally as Joint Managing Director of Pioneer following the acquisition of Pioneer Healthcare in 2022, and provided day to day operational guidance to the team. John is an adult neurosurgeon with a special interest in spinal surgery and paediatric neurosurgery.

John was previously the head of department of neurosurgery at Sheffield Teaching Hospital, one of the biggest neurosurgery departments in the UK. He is a member of a number of peer review committees in England including the Paediatric Brain Tumour Registry and the Paediatric Head Injury Group.

Tony joined the Board in October 2015 and has chaired the Remuneration Committee since that time. Tony has extensive business, healthcare and finance experience.

Tony is also a non-executive director of Barchester, the UK’s largest operator of residential care homes and of AOTI, an AIM-quoted leader in woundcare. Tony is chairman of CW+ (formerly Chelsea and Westminster Health Charity), one of the largest NHS charities.

Previously, Tony has served on the board of Spire Healthcare, a leading FTSE 250 private hospital group, and was chief executive of the British Medical Association from 2005 until 2013. Prior to this, Tony worked in investment banking for over 25 years. 

Bob Forsyth joined the Board of Totally as Non-Executive Director and Audit Chair and member of the Remuneration and Nominations Committees on 25 July 2024.

Bob is currently the Chair of London's Air Ambulance, the global leader in Helicopter Emergency Medical Services (HEMS) and a leader in pre-hospital innovation. Prior to this he was the Audit & Risk Chair of London's Air Ambulance and has been the Audit & Risk Chair for Ernst & Young's ("EY") pension scheme since 2022. Until June 2023, he was a listed audit partner with EY advising on the governance of FTSE250, small cap and AIM-listed businesses and also led transformational change programmes, including cultural change and delivering improved performance. As an audit partner he advised many listed businesses on governance and capital market transactions.
